Lionman 2009 Sponsors

The Belize National Triathlon Association extends an open invitation to all triathletes to participate in the 10th Annual Lionman Triathlon to be held in Belize City, Belize on September 13, 2009.

The Lionman Triathlon is an Olympic distance triathlon.
Swim: 0.93 miles (1.5 km)
Bike: 24.8 miles (40 km)
Run: 6.2 miles (10 km)

Categories
Male: under 18, 18 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 49, 50+
Females
Relay Teams (must include at least 1 female)

Prizes 
1st. Male: Trophy + BZ$500
2nd. Male: Trophy + BZ$300
3rd. Male: Trophy + BZ$200

1st. Female: Trophy + BZ$500
2nd. Female: BZ$300
3rd. Female: BZ$200

1st. Relay Team: Trophy
2nd. Relay Team: Trophy
3rd. Relay Team: Trophy

1st Belizean: Glass Trophy donated by the Lewis Family in memory of George Lewis who was a triathlete.

Trophies will also be awarded to the top male athlete in each age group. Medals will be awarded to everyone who finishes within the 4-hour time limit.

Mandatory Technical Meeting
There will be a mandatory technical meeting at the Radisson Fort George Hotel in the Cahal Pech room (villa wing) on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.  All athletes and relay teams must be represented at this meeting. Failure to have representation at this mandatory technical meeting will result in automatic disqualification.

Starting Time
Transition area opens at 5:30 a.m.
Race starts at 7:00 a.m.
Course closes at 11:00 a.m.
