The Lionman Triathlon is an Olympic distance triathlon in which each participant has to complete a 0.9 mile (1500 meters ) swimming race, a 24.8-mile (40 km) bicycle race (individual time trial) and a 6.2 mile (10 km) running race. All three races must be done back-to-back in immediate sequence in the order of swim, ride, run. Each competitor's official time includes the time required to "transition" between the individual legs of the race, including any time necessary for changing clothes and shoes.
The Corporate Relay will cover the same Lionman course in the same order; however, it is designed as a relay event for 3-person teams. Therefore, one person will swim, one person will ride and one person will run. The most important rule for this event is that every team MUST have at least ONE FEMALE participant. This event will start 5 minutes after the Lionman Triathlon.
